The ReFine project started in June 2009 as cooperation between the University of Karlsruhe and the Bayer AG. The project focuses on the complex financial planning of Bayer, whereas in a first step the planning is rationalized and accelerated. In a second step the checks of the planning data delivered by the subcompanies should be enhanced based on pattern matching methods to increase the quality of the data. Furthermore, founded on these prepared data it is possible to work on questions of risk controlling with the focus on liquidity planning, which is a very important topic for companies in current market environment.
The Cooperation with the Bayer AG began in the year 2001 with a first version of the Corporate Financial Portal, the internal finance portal of the Bayer AG. ReFine is by now the third project of this collaboration. Based on CoFiPot in the past three years the focus was laid on questions in technical support of tax handling and planning with the TaxIS project.
